Description
Connie travels to Afghanistan looking for some action. She finds out that a Captain with whom she is acquainted is stationed at Firebase Zulu, in far Northwestern Afghanistan. Things are pretty quiet so she enjoys some sport with the Marines.
"Is that all ya got? I'm down to two fingers here!" Connie taunts the Marines straining on the other end of the rope.
"Told ya we should've had at least twelve guys on the rope." one Marine tells another.
"I don't think the whole battalion could beat her." says the other.
All the fun (and the several cases of three liter Jack Daniels bottles specially ordered for her by the Marines) takes Connie's mind off of action for awhile until her battle-trained hearing picks up a sound she knows too well.
"INCOMMING!' she shouts and...
Uh-oh, looks like the tug-a-war will have to wait.
Does Connie finally find the action she's looking for?

Cool picture but a tug-o-war isn't about strength like that. It's about the ability to leverage mass. Connie might have the strength but she simply is too light for that to matter. Hence why you see the marines anchoring and leaning back rather than just pulling; they're leveraging their weight to greatly increase the friction their weight creates and thus greatly increase the amount of power needed to move them. Connie couldn't do that on her one since she lacks the requisite mass. This is why soldiers like that can beat Land Rovers in a tug-o-war. The Land Rover has no ability to anchor itself by altering its angle to the ground.
